Event Details

SkyTrain ran its first fully automated vehicles in 1985. Nearly 50 years later, its impact is undeniableโ€”shaping Metro Vancouver's urban landscape by driving density, unlocking development, and transforming mobility. Now, with the extension to Langley, the Fraser Valley is poised for a new era of growth.

What lessons can we take from past transit expansions? How will this next phase of rapid transit impact housing, commercial development, and community planning? And what should developers expect as the region continues to evolve?

Join key industry and municipal leaders for a fireside conversation on the opportunities and challenges of SkyTrain's arrival in the Fraser Valley. Don't miss this chance to connect with experts and peers on the future of transit-oriented development in the region.

In 2010, he completed the SFU & City of Surrey Transportation Lecture Program and presented on “Complete Streets.”

Nathan was first elected to Council in a 2016 by-election and elected Mayor in 2022.
