Adam Wharram is an Archaeologist and Team Lead at Stantec Consulting Ltd., a Canadian engineering and design firm stretching to 400 locations across 6 continents, and with 150 employees in two offices in the Greater Victoria area offering services within multiple business sectors including Environmental Services (including Archaeology), Engineering, Transportation Services, and Architecture to name a few.
Adam graduated from the University of Victoria’s Department of Anthropology in 2011 and has been with Stantec for over 10 years conducting a variety of studies across British Columbia. These studies have included surveys, excavations, and construction monitoring for residential properties, municipal projects on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland, as well as mining and oil and gas projects throughout the province. Outside of Stantec, Adam held a temporary post at the Archaeology Branch of BC, 2011, and participated in a variety of archaeological projects through UVic and Camosun College including faunal analysis in China, inter-tidal excavation in the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve, and burial cairn survey in Victoria.

Shane Moore started his career with Ryzuk Geotechnical in the year 2000. In 2008, he and his partners purchased Ryzuk Geotechnical and Shane became the President and General Manager, helping to grow the company from only 12 staff members to a bustling business of 60! Bringing over 28 years of experience in geotechnical and hydrotechnical projects throughout British Columbia, Shane enjoys spending time in the field as well as in the office. While most of his work is centralized in BC, it has taken him as far abroad as Japan and Grand Turk.

Shannon Murray (she/her) is an ISA qualified tree risk assessor and certified arborist working as a project arborist at Talmack Urban Forestry Consultants. After completing her Bachelors of Science in Ecology from the University of Guelph, Shannon moved to Victoria in 2019 to work as a climbing arborist. Transitioning to a consulting arborist role in 2021, Shannon works with private land developers and local municipalities on various urban development projects. Her role includes designing and implementing tree protection strategies to ensure compliance with local bylaws to retain and enhance the urban forest.

Dr. Katie Cummer has a wide range of knowledge and expertise in the field of heritage conservation. Principal of Cummer Heritage Consulting (CHC), her expertise includes conservation planning, educational programming and heritage-focused research. She is an active researcher and writer, working throughout the province, conducting assessments of sites to facilitate informed decision-making, including Heritage Values Assessments, Statements of Significance and Heritage Conservation Plans. She has authored and co-authored a number of academic papers, books, book chapters and consultancy studies on topics related to heritage conservation including adaptive reuse, area conservation planning, the Historic Urban Landscape approach, interpretation, policy studies and recommendations on best practice for official Government use. She is a Professional Member of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP), accredited for the Education, History and Planning specializations. She is also a Professional Member of The Hong Kong Institute of Architectural Conservationists (HKICON) and a former BCAHP Board Member (2018-2023) and BCAHP Vice President (2019-2023).

Heather (she/her) is an Environmental Consultant and Business Development Lead with PGL Environmental Consultants. She has more than 15 years experience specializing in contaminated sites assessment and remediation. She started her career in 2009 working on federal contaminated sites in the Yukon, Northern BC and Alberta. Today, she works primarily with the real estate and development industry, helping her clients navigate the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation to obtain regulatory approvals or complete environmental due diligence investigations to support land transactions and financing.
In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the beautiful west coast trails and beaches with her labradoodle, Juniper, or embarking on international adventures—more than likely a yoga retreat, music festival, or beach vacay.

Katharine (she/her) is a Registered Professional Biologist with 20 years of expertise in fish and wildlife habitat assessments, surveys, and salvages. She has been with PGL Environmental Consultants for over 10 years and has become a valuable asset in the urban development sector, reflected by her knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting. A biologist first, her commitment to environmental conservation is evident in her work across diverse ecoregions, including the Okanagan, Haida Gwaii, Chilcotin, Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Based out of PGL’s Victoria office, Katharine has been focused on Island projects and is passionate about Garry oak ecosystems and restoration. Katharine helps her clients find practical solutions and opportunities within environmentally challenging sites.
Her hobbies include birding, pottery, crafting, camping and paddleboarding. She has also been working on a native plant garden, providing a pollinator friendly habitat around her oak trees.

With almost two decades of experience in planning, design, and project execution, Eric Tran specializes in commercial, healthcare, and institutional architecture. He combines strong technical expertise with a deep understanding of constructability, ensuring that every project is both visionary and practical. Eric’s work spans a diverse range of sectors, including commercial mixed-use, education, government, industrial, military, and transportation.
Eric is passionate about creating thoughtful and functional spaces. He believes that great design often speaks quietly—focusing on usability and comfort rather than ostentatious statements, making the most understated buildings the hardest to master.

Leon values creativity, collaboration, and improvement through incremental change. He is a highly regarded structural engineer in Victoria, delivering creative, economical structural design solutions and exemplary client service on many of the city’s most important buildings. Leon quickly recognizes key project issues and proposes structural solutions, while simultaneously bringing a spirit of cooperation into project teams. His strong communication and mentorship skills serve him well as Managing Principal of RJC’s Victoria Structural Engineering Team.

Leon continually pushes the boundaries of structural engineering, and his supportive approach to creative architects has resulted in numerous design awards. Leon has special expertise with seismic upgrading of heritage buildings and with mid-rise and heavy timber wood-frame buildings. His commitment to efficient design and good communication has earned the respect and repeat business of local architects and developers. His work is evident in projects such as the Hudson Bay Redevelopment and Brentwood College Visual Arts Centre, a project that incorporates heavy timber and structural glass.

Andrew started in the industry as a co-op student at Smith + Andersen, and has been growing with the company ever since. He believes successful projects come from a holistic design approach. Andrew draws from his broad knowledge base and work experience on projects across Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario, to tailor solutions to meet specific project goals and client needs. Some of his notable local projects include the Movala condominium development, as well as The Shore mixed-use building (where the S+A Kelowna office is actually located). Beyond British Columbia, Andrew has also leant his expertise to office towers like 160 Front Street West in Toronto, and the rehabilitation of HSBC Place in Edmonton.

In addition to specializing in high-rise commercial and multi-unit residential developments, Andrew also has a clear understanding of emergency services, hospitality, mechanical plant upgrades, tenant improvements, and net zero designs. A LEED Green Associate who is passionate about energy-efficient design, Andrew enjoys collaborating with colleagues and leading project teams to discover innovative and energy-efficient mechanical solutions that meet client objectives.

Throughout his career, Eric has been engaged in projects that vary in terms of their complexity, scale, and unique sustainability goals. This diversity has broadened his perspective and fostered an innovative and unique approach to every project he undertakes. The strength of this approach is exemplified by a long list of projects that fulfilled client objectives, met sustainability intents, and were completed with minimal issues.

Ian is a civil engineer currently leading McElhanney’s Victoria office as Branch Manager. He has close to 30 years of civil engineering experience, in both private sector consulting and public service environments. Ian has acted as project manager and the design engineer for many large development projects including Belmont Market, Wadams Farm,Latoria Terrace , and various phases within Bear Mountain. He was the former Manager of Capital Projects at the CRD where he managed multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder infrastructure projects.

Dan is a civil engineer currently managing McElhanney’s Kelowna office as Branch Operations Manager. He has over 30 years of civil engineering experience, in both private sector consulting and public service environments. Dan has focussed on land development and municipal road/infrastructure projects during that period. Dan has served as the Engineer of Record, project manager and the design engineer for many large development projects including Terra and Pacific Ridge by Beedie Development, and several multi-family and mix used developments in Langford and the Okanagan, BC.

Nadine has recently been appointed Vice President, Transportation at WATT. This role includes managing and supporting a transportation team of thirty spread across five offices in Western Canada. Nadine’s 23 years of experience spans multiple provinces and clients from private developers to municipal and provincial government, in traffic operations as well as transportation planning and design. Nadine’s projects range from construction traffic control plans to site impact studies for new developments and network / community transportation master plans. As a senior transportation engineer, Nadine has worked on small to large scale planning operational assessment using Synchro, SIDRA, and VISUM to analyze traffic conditions and evaluate network options. She has experience with concept to detail designs for signage and pavement markings, adding lanes, and roundabouts as well as bicycle, sidewalk, and trail design. Nadine is also experienced in developing plans that integrate various user groups to create multi-modal networks that work for all users. She is experienced with traffic signal timing, signal coordination plans, railway crossing assessments, and parking.

Ian has designed a vast range of buildings, including retail, multi-family residential, office towers, dormitories and hotels. As the leader of our Kelowna office, Ian is responsible for providing mentorship and guidance to colleagues and junior staff in the office. He has an ability to communicate complex electrical systems in a clear manner, geared towards the technical level of our clients. Ian believes success on a project begins with clear and frequent communication.

Mark Holland RPP FCIP (he/him) is a Principal at Westplan Consulting Group with over thirty years of experience in urban planning and landscape architecture. Mark offers a unique and effective combination of private and public sector skill sets to lead projects from early visioning to policy development, to design and approvals and from financing to construction. A commitment to relentless innovation has driven Mark to challenge and push past the norms in all aspects of his work. He has won numerous awards and is credited with many innovations in Canadian Planning including sustainable communities, Agricultural Urbanism, creating urban vitality through Urban Magnets and many other progressive concepts.
